Why Our RSPB Partnership Means So Much

Oct 12, 2026 • Lucy Jeffrey

With the launch of our latest charity partnership with RSBP, providing us with some incredible new garden bird socks, I wanted to take the time to reflect on why this partnership means so much to me personally, as well as the Bare Kind brand.

Growing up, my sister and I were influenced a lot by our Grandad’s love for garden birds. (This was before influencers were even a thing, and I don’t think he’d be into the social media scene!). He was very passionate about watching them, counting them, and generally looking after them in his garden.

Our mum was exactly the same, she’d love spending time watching the birds in the garden with her cup of morning tea. Every year we would take part in RSPB’s Big Garden Bird Watch, and we grew up with a gift subscription of the RSPB kids magazine from Grandma and Grandad.

So to now be able to partner with RSPB, the UK’s largest conservation charity, is a real pinch me moment.

We’ve sadly now lost both Grandad and Mum, but they would have been so excited to see this partnership blossom, and since Mum’s passing we have seen a lot of robins keeping an eye on us, so the robin socks are particularly special. They do say that when robins appear loved ones are near.

That’s something special we always end up learning about our socks, is that yes they are obviously very fun socks for people to buy for themselves or loved ones, but there are real stories behind the designs - real animals who need support, real stories for those who have been touched by these animals at some point in their lives.

So my hope for this range of socks, and this partnership with RSPB, is that we can build on it. Robins, Blue Tits and Wrens are just the start - which birds would you like to see next?!
