Animal Facts

Orca

Orcas are super smart and travel in tight-knit family groups called pods. These groups share unique sounds, hunt together, and even pass down traditions—like animal culture! Also, some European orcas have developed special "carousel feeding" where they drive schools of fish into tight circles and stun them with tail slaps.

Shark

Its wide, hammer-shaped head helps it see in almost every direction at once, and the shape improves hunting by detecting electric signals from prey.

Otter

Eurasian otters are master builders—digging dens called holts into riverbanks, sometimes entering through underwater tunnels! They're also playful and known to slide down muddy slopes for fun.

Seal

Harbor seals can dive for up to 30 minutes and reach depths of more than 500 meters — but usually stick to shallow waters when hunting.

Ray

It’s not actually a “true” ray — more closely related to sharks — and its body is covered in thorn-like spines for protection.

Lobster

European lobsters have one claw for crushing and one claw for cutting — like having built-in kitchen tools!
