Animal Facts

Red Squirrel

These little acrobats can jump over 2 meters (6.6 ft) between trees! They also change fur color with the seasons and grow fuzzy ear tufts during winter.

Puffin

Puffins are nicknamed “clowns of the sea” for their big, rainbow-colored beaks and playful look. Plus, they can carry over 60 fish at once in their beaks!

Tiger Moth

Their bright orange and black wings are a warning—these moths are toxic, and predators learn to avoid them!

Badger

European badgers are notorious for their digging: they build extensive sett complexes that can disrupt lawns or undercut buildings.

Life Span

Many young squirrels don’t survive their first year. Adults in the wild often live around 3 years, though some reach 7 years, and in rare cases up to 10 years in captivity.

Life Span

Lives around 20 years, with some individuals surviving 30 years or more; one was recorded at 41 years old!
